Scientific Research involves research and development in a range of fields. One finds Scientists working in varied industries difficult to list in short. One finds them in business organisations, corporate and government organisations and of course research institutes.
Research as the name suggests forms the core function of this industry but the roles vary from industry to industry. A large number of Research Scientists work in applied sciences where their chief role is to produce practical solutions to a multitude of problems. Long hours of work, complete and intense dedication to one's desired field of research work are absolute pre-requisites. A Researcher's life is not bound by time and the word fatigue does non-existent in his world.
The career is excruciatingly demanding yet highly satisfying from an individual's perspective.
Qualifications are very stringent as one has to be extremely qualified in their respective subject of Research. A PhD degree becomes a requisite to qualify for all academic research.
Truly a back-bending career the rewards may surface years down the line but the benefits which accrue are highly satiating. |
