An Account Executive is chiefly responsible for the development and the management of the organisation’s major accounts. This involves a regular interface with the various clientele, understand their needs and translate the same to his/her creative team to effect the desired results. The person is responsible for the proper and timely delivery of the client’s needs, drive revenue through long-term contacts, and develop new markets.
The other important duties are selling new, high-end, and complex products and multi-platform packages, offering creatively designed solutions and packages to the clients and gathering a feedback from the client to his/her organisation pertaining to the services and required improvisations if any.
The person should be excellent at relationship building, servicing and maintaining the same. A thorough knowledge of advertising sales, excellent customer service skills and the ability to ideate and implement creative solution packages to meet the client’s needs are essential qualities of an Account Executive.
A bachelor’s degree in advertising or business management is highly advantageous. A graduate with an experience of at least 5 years experience in the same or related area is also qualifies one to make a foray into this position.
The person should have a friendly and strong personality and should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and these should be combined with strong convincing skills. The person should be willing to put in long hours of work and have a highly optimistic attitude.
